Liz Cheney sworn in as Wyoming’s Representative
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Liz Cheney released the following statement after being sworn-in as Wyoming’s lone member of the U.S. House of Representatives.
“I am honored and ready to get to work for the people of Wyoming. Our state has suffered under 8 years of Obama’s failed policies. I look forward to working to undo the damage and roll back the out of control federal government. We need to get our economy growing again and get access to our tremendous fossil fuel resources so we can bring jobs back to Wyoming. I will also be working every day to restore our constitutional rights and freedoms.”
Congressman Cheney is also pleased to announce her appointment to the House Rules Committee. Additional committee assignments will be announced in the coming weeks.
“It is an honor to be asked to serve on this very important committee. The Rules Committee will give me an opportunity to participate in every major piece of legislation that comes before the House and affects the lives of the people of Wyoming,” said Liz Cheney.
In a statement U.S. Congressman Pete Sessions (R-TX), Chairman of the House Rules Committee welcomed Congressman Liz Cheney (R-WY) to the Rules Committee:
“As a strong constitutional conservative, Congresswoman Cheney was chosen by the people of Wyoming to represent them because she understands what it takes to create a safer, stronger America, put Americans back to work, and restore the balance of powers. From her days in the State Department as an expert in U.S. Policy in the Middle East, to her critical advocacy work on Constitutional authority, as well as her dedication to helping veterans in her community, she has gained important insight and knowledge about some of the most pressing issues facing our nation. I have no doubt that Congresswoman Cheney will be an exceptional new Member of Congress and bring tremendous value to the important work that we do at the Rules Committee.”
Congressman Cheney would also like to announce four of her Wyoming based staff; State Director Tammy Hooper, Communications Director Amy Edmonds, Deputy State Director Jackie King and Field Representative Karmen Rossi. Additional Wyoming and Washington, D.C. will be announced next week.
