Congresswoman Cheney's Planning 2.0 Bill Signed Into Law by President Trump

Washington D.C.- Congresswoman Liz Cheney (R-WY) released the following statement on President Trump's signing of her bill overturning BLM Planning 2.0:

"I am proud to see H.J. Res 44, overturning BLM Planning 2.0., signed into law today by President Trump," Cheney said. "I introduced this legislation and was proud to work with Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) and Wyoming's Senators Enzi and Barrasso to see it pass both chambers. The rule we overturn today would have had far reaching and damaging implications on public lands and our economy in Wyoming.  Planning 2.0 would have given the federal government and radical environmental groups control over land use and resource planning in our state, at the expense of local officials and stakeholders.”

"With the dissolution of this rule, we will be able to stop one more Obama Administration policy that was part of an eight-year war on the west. In Wyoming, we know that our local citizens, elected officials and stakeholders are the best stewards of our resources and lands. I applaud President Trump for keeping his campaign promises to end federal overreach and return authority to our states and local communities."

Congressman Cheney (WY-AL) introduced H.J. Res 44 in the U.S. House of Representatives on 1/30/2017.  It was passed by the House on 02/07/2017 and by the Senate on 03/07/2017.
