Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman and Vice Chair of the January 6th Select Committee Liz Cheney (R-WY) issued the following statement after the House passed H.R. 8873 229-203, the bipartisan “Presidential Election Reform Act,” a bill to strengthen the Electoral Count Act (ECA) by a vote of 229-203:

“Today, the House took an important bipartisan step to protect all future presidential elections. This bill will preserve the rule of law and defend election integrity. It will ensure that self-interested politicians cannot steal from the people the guarantee that our government derives its power from the consent of the governed. I look forward to continuing to work with my colleagues in the House and the Senate to ensure these important reforms become law.”
