Washington – Wyoming Congresswoman and House GOP Conference Chair Liz Cheney (R-WY) issued the following statement after the Treasury Department and Small Business Administration issued a new interim rule that will allow community hospitals to be eligible for resources provided in the CARES Act, including loans from the Paycheck Protection Program:
“After working closely with the Trump Administration on this issue, I applaud them for issuing this guidance that will allow our community hospitals in rural areas to have access to resources offered in the CARES Act. This is a great decision and one that’s very important for Wyoming.
“Our state is supported by so many community hospitals, and these facilities have taken an economic hit because of the spread of this virus. Like private hospitals, they deserve to have access to the loans offered in the Paycheck Protection Program, and I’m pleased that the rule clarification issued today will give them that opportunity. I will continue to work with our rural hospitals so they have the tools they need to continue to provide care to the people of Wyoming.”
