Washington – Wyoming Congresswoman and House GOP Conference Chair Liz Cheney (R-WY) joined “Let’s Talk With Al Harris” on KUGR 1420 this morning to discuss the latest updates on what Congress has done to combat the impact of COVID-19, including regulatory relief for energy producers. Listen to the full interview here, and see an excerpt of the transcript below:

AL HARRIS: “Can you give us any insight, just from your position there in D.C. — is the work that you’ve done now the end of the recovery effort or the beginning? Could there be more?”

REP. LIZ CHENEY: Yeah, I think a couple of things. One, there’s a lot that we also need to do and focus on, of course our energy industry was hard hit anyway because of what’s going on between the Saudis and the Russians on top of, of course, the challenges of our coal industry.

“Then, of course, we’ve been working and will continue to work with respect to the Trona Industry to get that royalty reduction in place. Across the board looking at ways we can help to provide relief from a regulatory perspective for our mining industries across the board.

“I think we’re going to continue to work on the regulatory front, we’re going to continue to work to make sure that this relief that we’ve provided is getting out the door.”
