Washington – Today, Wyoming Congresswoman and House GOP Conference Chair Liz Cheney (R-WY) issued the following statement after President Trump officially signed the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) into law:

“The USMCA fulfills President Trump’s commitment to opening markets and leveling the playing field for American workers and products. This is a historic victory that will usher in 176,000 new American jobs and continue the tremendous growth of the Trump economy. In Wyoming, trade with Canada and Mexico is essential, representing 20 percent of our exports and totaling as much as $270 million in recent years. Signing USMCA into law means that thousands of our farmers and ranchers can access new markets for our agricultural products including wheat, beef, dairy, pork, and wool. Wyoming’s small businesses and manufacturers, which comprise 67 percent of our state’s exports of machinery to Canada and Mexico, will have new business opportunities to invest in our state and raise wages. It was an honor to join President Trump today at the White House where he signed USMCA into law and I look forward to continue working with the President to implement policies that benefit Wyoming and the nation.”
