For Immediate Release:

Washington D.C.- Congressman Liz Cheney (WY-AL) released the following statement today regarding the introduction of H.R. 2771, The Outdoor Recreation Enhancement Act.

“I was pleased to introduce legislation today with Rep. Chris Stewart (UT-02) to protect our outfitters and guides on public lands from burdensome wage rules introduced by the Department of Labor under the Obama Administration. The Obama rule, which would force many small businesses throughout the west to close their operations, is yet one more example of the federal government imposing unnecessary government regulations on our tourism industry without considering their impact on jobs, Wyoming’s outdoor industry, or our economy as a whole. Wyoming is the premier state for outdoor tourism and passage of this legislation will ensure this remains the case for years to come.”
