WASHINGTON, D.C.- Congressman Cheney issued the following statement regarding Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke’s action today to rescind former U.S. Fish and Wildlife Director Dan Ashe’s decree on the use of lead ammunition and fishing sinkers on public lands.

“I thank Secretary Zinke for his actions today and for bringing common sense back to Washington and the U.S. Department of the Interior.  Former Director Ashe, on his last day in office, issued this unnecessary order that was based on no credible evidence. Wyoming’s sportsmen are thrilled to have Secretary Zinke at the helm and I look forward to working with him on the issues important to Wyoming.”
